Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr Completes Full HYROX Race While Pregnant With Second Child

Eight-time Fittest Woman on Earth Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr stepped onto the HYROX Americas Championships floor in Washington, D.C. on March 7-8 and did something that stopped the fitness world in its tracks: she completed a full Mixed Doubles race while pregnant with her second child, grinding through one hour and 20 minutes of work alongside her husband.

The performance was her first time partnering with her husband in a HYROX competition. Toomey-Orr is no stranger to the race format; she previously paired with Joanna Wietrzyk in Women's Doubles, a partnership that produced a HYROX World Record. The Washington, D.C. appearance marked a different chapter, trading the record-chasing Women's Doubles dynamic for a Mixed Doubles run with her spouse.

Toomey-Orr publicly announced her pregnancy in November 2025. Her absence from the 2025 Rogue Invitational, a competition she would normally be expected to enter, led many to believe she had known earlier than the announcement. At the time of the HYROX Americas race, she was at least four months pregnant, though the exact gestational age has not been confirmed.

The season has not been without setbacks. Toomey-Orr had been preparing to race at the HYROX World Championships but withdrew before competing due to illness. The HYROX Americas appearance showed she was back and moving, with the Washington, D.C. race representing her most significant competitive outing since the pregnancy became public.

Beyond HYROX, Toomey-Orr has also been participating in the 2026 CrossFit Open, sharing her experience and attempting to complete the official workouts for the season's first qualifying stage. It is a season defined not by podium chases but by an athlete who holds more Fittest Woman on Earth titles than anyone in the sport's history refusing to step back from the community she has dominated for nearly a decade.
