Castoff Pet Rescue Hosts Donation-Based Puppy Yoga to Support Adoptable Dogs

Seven adoptable puppies from Castoff Pet Rescue took over Mountain Yoga in Blairsville this morning for a donation-based Puppy Yoga event that paired a 45 to 60 minute gentle yoga session with hands-on time to meet and cuddle dogs waiting for homes.

The event kicked off at 11 AM at 564 Shoe Factory Rd, with all proceeds going directly to Castoff Pet Rescue. The format is exactly what it sounds like for anyone who has done a doga or puppy yoga class before: you flow through a gentle sequence while adoptable animals wander the mat, climb on your back during child's pose, and generally make savasana more chaotic and more worthwhile than usual. The added layer here is that every puppy in the room is available for adoption.

Castoff Pet Rescue is a nonprofit, no-kill organization based in Blairsville serving Towns County and Union County in Georgia, as well as Cherokee County and Clay County in North Carolina. The rescue's website lists adoption, fostering, and volunteering as active pathways for community members who want to get involved beyond writing a check.
