HeroClix is crossing into the Forgotten Realms. WizKids revealed Dungeons & Dragons HeroClix: Series One at GAMA Expo in early March 2026, and it's a genuine product launch rather than another limited collectible drop: 60 pre-painted miniatures, full rarity tiers, and complete compatibility with existing HeroClix lines, meaning your Elf Wizard can legally square off against Spider-Man on the same combat dial system.

The set spans goblins, kobolds, and orcs on the monster side, with adventurers including an Elf Wizard, Human Paladin, Halfling Warlock, and Dwarf Cleric rounding out the hero roster. Dragons feature prominently throughout, and the chase slot goes to different Chromatic Dragon Wyrmlings. Rarity tiers include Secret Commons, Primes, and those Chase figures, so there's a proper collector's chase built into the pull structure.

Each booster packs in four miniatures: three regular-sized figures on standard combat dials and one oversized miniature on a larger combat dial. You also get an object token with its corresponding card and a One-Shot card featuring D&D spells from the tabletop game, with Fireball and Magic Missile cited as examples. Boosters are sold in Booster Bricks of eight, with an MSRP of $223.92 per brick. Pre-orders are live now through local game stores and the WizKids website, with release scheduled for October 2026. Orders placed directly through WizKids carry a $19.99 minimum cart requirement, and payment is charged immediately at the time of order.

This is a meaningful step beyond what WizKids has done with D&D and HeroClix previously. The Eye of the Beholder, Cave of the Owlbears, and Den of the Displacer Beast sets from 2024 and 2025 were HeroClix Iconix releases, small boxes with a handful of miniatures and a die that were "really meant more as collectibles rather than a full expansion for the game." Series One is built as a proper HeroClix expansion from the ground up.

The broader historical context here matters too. HeroClix has stayed comic-adjacent for nearly two decades since HorrorClix and Halo ActionClix launched, with only occasional detours like Stranger Things: The Upside Down and Beetlejuice through the Iconix line. A 60-figure standalone fantasy set built on the D&D IP is a different kind of commitment. Whether that opens the door to Series Two is the obvious next question, but for now, October 2026 gives collectors and HeroClix players several months to decide how many Booster Bricks they actually need.
