The worst single-player GTA question is usually the simplest one: did I just permanently lose my car? Mors Mutual Insurance Single Player Mod answers that panic with a proper recovery system for story mode, letting you insure a vehicle, bring it back after destruction, and even report it stolen so it can be spawned before disaster strikes.

That is a small change on paper and a big one in practice. If you have spent hours tuning a clean garage car, or if you keep testing jumps, water crossings, and mission routes with the same favorite build, the mod turns a one-off mistake into a recoverable inconvenience. Instead of leaning on manual backups, save-file discipline, or whatever garage workaround you have cobbled together, you get a GTA-style insurance net that makes experimentation feel less risky.

The idea is familiar because GTA Online has lived with Mors Mutual for years. Rockstar Games’ support pages say destroyed insured vehicles can be recovered by calling Mors Mutual Insurance through the in-game phone, and Rockstar’s customer support also points players to other vehicle-management tools such as the Mechanic, Terrorbyte, Pegasus delivery, the MOC, the CEO Assistant, the police impound lot, and the Manage Vehicles menu. In GTA Online, San Andreas Mercenaries went a step further by allowing players to claim all destroyed vehicles at once and removing charges for recovering personal vehicles destroyed during contact missions. Single-player never got that same convenience, which is exactly where this mod steps in.

The mod also has a lineage worth noting. The new Nexus Mods release is listed as a derivative based on Bob74’s 2022 work, and that older version already targeted the exact kind of frustration every car collector knows: losing a fully modified vehicle during missions or after trying to see whether it was waterproof. The original Mors Mutual Insurance - Single Player mod appeared on GTA5-Mods.com and GitHub, with a 1.2.1 changelog dated April 10, 2022 that fixed a persistence issue.

Mors Mutual itself is pure GTA fiction, a health and automotive insurer with headquarters in Rockford Hills at the corner of Dorset Drive and Mad Wayne Thunder Drive in Los Santos. Bringing that name into single-player is more than a joke from the online mode. It is a practical fix for a long-running annoyance, and for anyone who treats a custom car like a saved game with wheels, that is the whole point.
