Hendler Family Brewing opens Mass Appeal Draught House at Patriot Place

Mass Appeal Draught House & Grille is turning a familiar beer stop at Patriot Place into something bigger, with Hendler Family Brewing Company set to open the new concept in early June inside the former Wormtown Brewery taproom in Foxborough. The move lands just ahead of summer traffic in the entertainment district, and Patriot Place says the opening comes in time for a season packed with special events.

The company says the 3,325-square-foot space has been reworked over five months into a full-service restaurant with a new identity, indoor and outdoor seating, and a fresh bar centered on a new 16-tap tower. The opening pour will stay firmly rooted in Massachusetts beer, with drafts limited to Hendler Family Brewing brands, including Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers, Wormtown Brewery, Night Shift, and Masshole Light. Wine and liquor are due later in the fall, giving the room a beer-first start before it broadens into a more complete food-and-drink operation.

That is the real story here. Hendler Family Brewing is not simply relaunching a taproom, it is repositioning an underused brewery site into a wider hospitality play built for a property that already pulls heavy foot traffic. Patriot Place mixes game-day crowds, shoppers, and destination dining, which makes the old taproom footprint a logical place to chase longer visits and higher check averages, not just quick pints.

The location already had a beer pedigree. Wormtown Brewery at Patriot Place first publicly opened on October 26, 2019, and was formally marked with a ribbon-cutting on December 11, 2019 as Foxborough’s first brewery and taproom. The original buildout featured 14 draft lines, a patio, and an indoor-outdoor fireplace, and the space had previously served as a Battle Road Brewery pop-up.

Mass Appeal also arrives inside a larger consolidation story for local craft beer. Jack’s Abby announced in April 2024 that it had purchased Wormtown Brewery, and Hendler Family Brewing later said it would acquire Night Shift Brewing, bringing the combined company to 300 employees. Hendler Family Brewing’s own site says it provides nearly 200 jobs across three permanent Massachusetts locations.

For Patriot Place, the old Wormtown room is being asked to do more than pour beer. Mass Appeal is betting that a high-traffic corner near Gillette Stadium can support a broader draught house model, one built to catch the summer rush and keep it longer at the table.
