Labubu becomes a super-robot in Tamashii Nations CHOGOKIN collaboration

Labubu has jumped from blind boxes and plush into Bandai Spirits’ CHOGOKIN lane, and that move lands with collector weight. The CHOGOKIN LABUBU opens for preorder on June 12, carries a ¥24,200 price tag, and is scheduled to ship in January 2027, making it a long-horizon buy aimed at serious buyers rather than casual pick-up traffic.

What makes the release matter is the format. This is not a simple molded figure dressed up as a crossover. Bandai’s page describes a full CHOGOKIN treatment with a die-cast body, an internal mechanical structure, light-up features, and a cockpit where Labubu and TYCOCO sit. The design was supervised by Labubu creator Kasing Lung and handled by JNTHED, which gives the figure an artist-led pedigree that fits the character’s rise far better than a generic mashup would.

The collaboration also places Labubu inside one of Bandai’s most heritage-heavy collector lines. CHOGOKIN dates back to CHOGOKIN MAZINGER Z in 1974, and the brand has long been associated with die-cast construction and character-specific gimmicks such as firing, combining, and transforming. Putting Labubu into that framework signals a bigger step than a standard crossover drop: it frames the character as a property that can live in premium action-figure culture, not just designer-toy shelves.

Tamashii lists the figure for ages 15 and up and says it will be sold across JAPAN, ASIA, USA, EMEA, and LATAM, underscoring how broad the audience has become. That global rollout arrives as POP MART continues to lean into THE MONSTERS 10th Anniversary push in 2026, including MEGA LABUBU 400% and 1000% anniversary releases. POP MART describes Labubu as a kind-hearted creature from THE MONSTERS world, a line inspired by Nordic myths, and says Kasing Lung brought the character to life in 2015.

Taken together, the release reads like a status upgrade. Labubu is no longer just the face of a collectible craze; in CHOGOKIN form, it is being positioned as a cross-format franchise with room to grow well beyond the blind-box lane. For collectors, the key window is simple: preorder opens June 12, and the first real test of demand starts the moment it goes live.
