Pop Mart teases new Labubu map, fans expect Popblocks expansion
A boat emoji and “new map” tease have Labubu fans eyeing a Popblocks expansion, as Pop Mart keeps turning THE MONSTERS into a bigger IP.

The boat emoji and the line “Unlocking a new map… Where is LABUBU heading this time?” point straight to a Popblocks-style adventure, not just another routine Labubu drop. Pop Mart’s latest cryptic clip reads like a destination reveal, and the wording has collectors parsing it as the next setting in the brand’s expanding THE MONSTERS universe.
That reading fits Pop Mart’s own earlier rollout. On May 31, 2024, the company posted a YouTube short saying, “The Monsters Blocks are coming soon! Join us in exploring Labubu’s wonderland!” and tagged it #popblocks. That tease established Blocks as a named Labubu project, and the new “map” language suggests the format is returning with a fresh scene to explore rather than a simple character rerun.
The lore gives the clue more weight. Pop Mart’s official THE MONSTERS description says Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung created the franchise in 2015, building a fairy world inspired by Nordic mythology. Labubu, the best-known character in that world, is described as a small monster with high, pointed ears and serrated teeth who is mischievous but kind-hearted. A map, a boat, and an adventure frame all match that storytelling style, which has always leaned into fantasy travel and odd little discoveries.
If Pop Mart follows the same formula as earlier Blocks reveals, the next wave is likely to center on Labubu in a new terrain, with accessories and scene pieces doing a lot of the heavy lifting. Expect travel-coded props, environment pieces, and display-friendly details that make the set feel like a miniature journey. If other THE MONSTERS characters show up, they will probably serve as companions or background figures rather than replacing Labubu’s place at the center.
The bigger business context explains why every tease matters. On September 29, 2025, Reuters reported that Pop Mart was borrowing from Disney’s playbook to build Labubu into a long-term IP, with content, entertainment, theme parks, store displays and more merchandise in the pipeline. That same report said Pop Mart shares had risen almost 200% so far in 2025. HSBC Business Go said in July 2025 that Labubu had become a major driver of Pop Mart’s growth, helped by celebrity fans including Rihanna, BLACKPINK’s Lisa and Kim Kardashian, while Pop Mart operated around 200 retail stores and more than 2,500 automated Robo Shops worldwide. By October 2025, Reuters reported that Labubu resale prices were cooling as supply increased, which makes this new map teaser even more telling: Pop Mart is still feeding demand, but it is doing so in a market that is larger, sharper, and far more mature than the first Labubu frenzy.
