Every Major Magic 2026 Set and Commander Release Date Revealed
Seven sets are on Magic's 2026 calendar, from Lorwyn Eclipsed in January to Star Trek in November, with Commander precons woven into nearly every release.

The full 2026 Magic: The Gathering release calendar is now mapped out across seven sets, and Commander players have a dense schedule to plan around: five of those releases carry dedicated Commander products, with some sets shipping multiple precons simultaneously.
Lorwyn Eclipsed opened the year on January 23, following a prerelease window that ran January 16-22 alongside a Commander Box League at local game stores. The Pro Tour for the set wrapped February 1, and a Magic Spotlight event closed out that cycle February 6-8. Commander decks from the set have been appearing on TCGplayer at $86.25 for the set of two, with individual decks listed around $34.95-$44.43 at Amazon, alongside Pirates and Angels theme decks at $23.99 each.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, a Universes Beyond release revealed at New York Comic Con on October 10, 2025, hit tabletop shelves March 6 after its MTG Arena debut on March 3. The set pulls from the entire TMNT IP, including art from the original Eastman and Laird comics and lands themed around pizza toppings. It ships with a five-color Commander precon and a cooperative product called Turtle Team Up, a format new to Magic. Commander Party events run March 13-19 and again April 4-9, with the Magic Presents: Turtle Time window extending all the way to April 16.
Secrets of Strixhaven arrives April 24 as a return to the magical academy, this time enrolling new students while following up on characters who graduated in the original set. It is the heaviest Commander release of the year: five Commander decks are included, matching the structure Wizards used with Tarkir Dragonstorm. A tie-in novel accompanies the set. The Commander Deck Bundle is already listed at $249.95 on Amazon, with individual decks including Lorehold Spirit and Quandrix Unlimited both at $49.99. Commander Party events are scheduled for May 1-7 and again June 5-11, with a Store Championship running May 8-31.
Marvel Super Heroes follows on June 26, continuing Wizards' Universes Beyond partnership with Marvel after Spider-Man's 2025 entry. The Hobbit lands August 14, though no additional product details have been confirmed beyond the release date.

Reality Fracture on October 2 is the most narratively loaded set of the year. The story threads back to Jace's effort to revert the multiverse to its pre-Phyrexian Invasion state, and speculation has centered on a "What If?" structure featuring alternate versions of familiar planes and characters. The only art shown so far appears to trace the life of Chandra.
Star Trek closes the year, with StarCityGames listing the tabletop release as November 20. Some other sources have cited November 11, and that discrepancy is worth watching for an official Wizards of the Coast confirmation. The set is expected to feature characters and ships spanning Star Trek's many eras, with mechanics built around exploration, diplomacy, and science fiction themes, and a strong Commander and collector focus. As Metagames Toys put it, "It's a fitting finale to a year that pushes Magic into entirely new frontiers."
One practical note for digital players: MTG Arena does not support the Commander format, meaning Commander precons and Commander-only cards from sets like these will not appear on Arena. MTGO follows the tabletop schedule more closely and includes most Commander-related products, though not all due to technical limitations.
