Marvel Super Heroes preorders and ranked Brawl come to MTG Arena

MTG Arena is asking Commander and Brawl players to make a call now: buy into Marvel Super Heroes on June 2, or wait for the June 23 launch and the new Ranked Brawl ladder. Wizards tied the preorder window directly to the set’s Arena debut, with three $49.99 bundles that run until release and give players a clear choice between packs, mastery progress, and playable cards.

The Pack Bundle is the straight collection play. It comes with a Thanos sleeve, 45 Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes packs, 5 mythic packs, 5 Golden packs, plus Thanos, the Mad Titan and its depth art card style. The Pass Bundle is aimed at players who want long-term value from the season track: it includes a Captain America sleeve, the Set Mastery Pass, 10 bonus levels, 1 Sealed token, 20 Marvel Super Heroes packs, 2 Golden packs, and Captain America, Super-Soldier with its depth art card style. The Play Bundle leans hardest into deckbuilding and event play, pairing an Iron Man sleeve and Iron Man’s Briefcase companion with 4 Draft tokens, 2 Sealed tokens, 20 Play-In Points, and Tony Stark // The Invincible Iron Man plus its depth art card style.

The bigger format change lands on June 23, when Ranked Brawl officially launches. Wizards says the mode will use matchmaking based on Constructed rank, a different banned list, new achievements, and other changes built for a more competitive environment. For players who already treat Brawl as a Commander-style proving ground, that makes the new queue more than a side event. Brawl on Arena is a 1v1 format built around a legendary creature or planeswalker, so a ranked version gives Marvel legends a place to be tuned, tested, and judged before they ever hit a paper table.

Wizards is giving players a short runway to try it first. The Modified Ranked Brawl Metagame Challenge runs from June 2 to June 15, is all-access, and affects rank and season-reward eligibility. When Ranked Brawl opens, it will be playable from both the Ranked and Brawl tabs, making it part of the same Arena ecosystem rather than a one-off experiment. That matters because Arena gets Marvel Super Heroes three days before tabletop, on June 23, while the physical set releases June 26. Wizards also says there will not be a separate Through the Omenpaths version for Marvel Super Heroes, so the digital release is the full Marvel-flavor version. For Arena players deciding where to spend time and money, the message is simple: the Marvel preorder window starts now, and the new singleton ladder follows fast behind it.
