Wizards of the Coast Reveals Full Secrets of Strixhaven Preview Schedule

The Secrets of Strixhaven preview season is live today, and Commander players have exactly one day to orient before the most Commander-relevant window of the entire schedule opens. Wizards of the Coast designated April 1 as the set's "Secrets of Strixhaven Commander" preview day, the anchor date for a product line that includes five Commander decks, one for each of Strixhaven's colleges, a bonus Mystical Archive sheet, and a dedicated Commander set.

Wizards published the full preview schedule on March 27, laying out a college-by-college cadence that runs through April 9. Today's March 31 debut, streaming live on twitch.tv/magic and the official Magic: The Gathering YouTube channel with a WeeklyMTG aftershow, opens the preview run with new mechanics and Booster Fun treatments. The college-themed days follow in sequence: Prismari on April 2, Lorehold on April 3, Quandrix on April 6, the Mystical Archive on April 7, Silverquill on April 8, and Witherbloom closing the run on April 9. The full card image gallery will be accessible on April 10, one day after the final preview, and a daily card-image gallery will be updated each morning with the prior day's reveals throughout the window.

Legality is a relevant consideration across the product lines. Wizards reiterated that Commander Set and Mystical Archive products are typically Eternal-legal only. A card receives Standard legality only if it also carries a main-set symbol. For Commander specifically, Eternal legality covers everything the format requires, so the distinction matters primarily for players interested in the 60-card formats.
