Dunk City Dynasty season 8 adds Haliburton, Turner with distinct playstyles

Season 8 opened after maintenance from June 23 at 22:00 to June 24 at 05:00 UTC-7, and Dunk City Dynasty used the reset to bring in Tyrese Haliburton and Myles Turner with very different jobs. Haliburton is tuned around ball movement and creating space for teammates, while Turner arrives as a two-way center built on verticality and defense. That split matters because it changes how lineups feel on the floor, not just how they look in the collection screen.

The new season also folds those arrivals into a full live-service refresh. Haliburton can be unlocked through the Current Superstar Supply Crate after the June 24 update, while Turner shows up through the Elite Player and Current Superstar Supply Crate. Both players were eligible for full Enhance Resets from June 24 until July 8 at 00:00 UTC-7, with 100 percent of Player Fragments and Star Player Fragments refunded after a reset. For anyone who built around either star and wanted to pivot, that refund window took some of the sting out of experimenting.

Progression got a softer edge too. No-Penalty Challenges removed trophy deductions from Season Journey, and players could earn up to four Party Blind Boxes per day. Two login days unlocked the Rewards Summer Shade bundle, which adds special on-court visual effects and extra attributes, while the returning Awakening of Sneakers Print Workshop brought back another layer of customization. The Black Cat Set also ran from June 24 through July 21 through the card pool, giving the cosmetic chase a long enough runway to matter.

Season 8 pushed competition as well as rewards. Winning 50 Ranked games unlocked the new celebration, Gomoku Mayhem, and the end of the 2026.4 - Playoff Showdown season rolled into 2026.6 - Championship Parade. The top 100 on the Rank, Dynasty, 5v5, Peak Points, and Style Points leaderboards all received limited-time titles, so the update rewarded both grinders and leaderboard regulars.

Dunk City Dynasty’s broader setup still leans on licensed NBA names and fast, snackable live updates. NetEase said the game launched worldwide on May 22, 2025 after gathering more than 5 million pre-registrations, with Jordan Clarkson as brand ambassador and Kendrick Perkins as the first special guest commentator, whose voice was available for free.
