Bowling Green L&N Depot Hosts Model Train Show Feb. 21, $5 Admission
55–60 vendor tables of new and used trains filled the L&N Depot in Bowling Green on Feb. 21; admission was $5 and the show ran 9 a.m.–2 p.m. at 401 Kentucky St.

The Historic RailPark & Train Museum at 401 Kentucky St. in Bowling Green hosted a model train show Saturday, Feb. 21, running from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with roughly 55–60 vendor tables and an admission charge of $5.00. The Midsouth NMRA entry for the event listed the sHOw Modular Model RR Club on the calendar and gave kcomer300@yahoo.com for more information.
Vendors offered a mix of new and used trains, supplies and accessories, toy trains, railroad memorabilia, prints, books and magazines, matching the Original Report’s summary of the NewsBreak and AllEvents listings. The AllEvents listing titled "FEBRUARY 21, 2026 MODEL TRAIN SHOW, BOWLING GREEN, KENTUCKY" also put the show at the Historic RailPark and Train Museum and confirmed the 9 a.m.–2 p.m. schedule.
The L&N Depot venue paired the vendor room with museum attractions: Bluegrasstrainexperience describes the site as "one of the region's largest model railroad displays inside" and notes seven restored railcars outside for touring, including an E8A Diesel Locomotive, a 1911 L&N Presidential Office Car, a 1949 Pullman Dining Car, a 1953 Luxury Pullman Sleeper and a 1921 Post Office Car. Bluegrasstrainexperience also lists a rare Jim crow Segregation Car, a WWII Hospital Car and a Chessie Class Caboose on display at the RailPark.
Organizers and the museum offered supplemental experiences beyond table sales. HeritageRail reports that "Visitors to the museum can view the interior of the display train during a guided tour led by knowledgeable volunteers," and that the L&N Depot Museum operates as a nonprofit that is "always welcoming new volunteers." The RailPark’s souvenir options were on display as well, Bluegrasstrainexperience encouraged visitors to "Take home engineer's hats, model trains, toys, apparel, and collectibles from their gift shop."

The depot’s own history remained part of the setting for the show: constructed in 1925 as Bowling Green’s third L&N depot, the station saw its final passenger train depart in 1979, fell into decline and was rescued by local preservationists in the late 1990s before restoration work finished in 2007 under the Friends of the L&N Depot, per HeritageRail’s timeline.
The Bowling Green show appeared on regional hobby calendars alongside other Mid-South events, with the Midsouth NMRA page grouping the Feb. 21 listing among other divisional shows. The Midsouth entry repeats the practical details plainly: "Admission: $5.00. For more information, email: kcomer300@yahoo.com."
With the museum open year-round on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Feb. 21 model train show extended the RailPark’s outreach by combining vendor sales with access to a large indoor HO layout and touring restored rolling stock, underscoring the Friends of the L&N Depot’s ongoing mission to preserve and showcase regional rail history.
