Dapol launches customizable charity wagons for Woodgreen Pets Charity

Dapol has turned a standard rolling-stock release into something far more personal: a charity wagon range for Woodgreen Pets Charity that spans N, OO and O gauge, with an option to put a customer’s own pet on the side. For a hobby where liveries and weathering usually do most of the talking, the pet-photo version gives the wagons an immediate human hook and a built-in reason to buy beyond the usual limited-edition chase.

The general-release line covers three wagon types, Gunpowder Van, Ventilated Van and GW Van, each offered in pristine and weathered finishes. Dapol said the wagons would move through its stockist network, with the standard versions expected in shops in June 2026 and some retailer listings pointing to July deliveries subject to manufacturer change. Recommended retail prices were set at £13.08 for pristine N gauge and £14.42 weathered, £14.63 and £15.87 for OO, and £59.34 and £61.74 for O gauge.

The custom wagons are the most distinctive part of the launch. Dapol made the personalised versions exclusive to its website because of operational requirements, and the order pages allow buyers to upload a photograph of their own pet, along with the animal’s name and home town. That image appears on the side opposite the Woodgreen branding, turning the wagon into something that can work as a gift, a keepsake or a small talking point in a freight consist. Dapol said final print quality depends on the quality of the uploaded image, and the custom orders carry a five-to-seven-day production lead time. Prices for the photo wagons were listed at £15.00 in N gauge, £20.00 in OO and £65.00 in O.

Every wagon sold will trigger a donation to Woodgreen Pets Charity, the UK animal-welfare organisation best known as the home of Channel 4’s The Dog House. Woodgreen says it supports dogs, cats and small animals with shelter, specialist care and pet-owner advice, and that it helped 7,628 pets and supported 220,000 people with advice in the last year. The charity is registered as no. 298348 and says its 2024/25 impact report marks its centenary year.

For collectors who might not normally buy a charity wagon, the mix of clean and weathered finishes, three popular scales and a pet-photo option gives Dapol’s release a wider pull than a simple livery change. It is a fundraiser, a layout accessory and, for anyone with a favourite animal at home, a tiny moving portrait.
