Small-scale modelling will take centre stage again at Warwickshire Event Centre when the International N Gauge Show returns on 12 and 13 September 2026, with organisers promising one of the strongest dedicated N gauge line-ups in the UK calendar. The event’s appeal is plain: for two days, N gauge will not be a side attraction, but the main event.

Meridienne Exhibitions says the show is the UK’s only exhibition focused exclusively on N gauge, and this year’s edition is backed by The N Gauge Society. That focus gives the weekend a clear edge for modellers who want to see what can be done with compact footprints, dense operation and finely detailed scenic work in 1:148 and related scales. The 2026 promotion points to more than 25 layouts, live demonstrations, society displays and specialist suppliers, making the show as useful for ideas as it is for purchases.

The layouts list already signals the range visitors will find. Gloucester is set to make its TINGS debut, while The N Gauge Society and Diesel and Electric Modellers United are among the displays and society presences confirmed for the event. The mix matters. British scenes, continental and American themes, steam and diesel subjects, and different eras all help show how far N gauge has moved beyond being just a space-saving compromise. For modellers planning a small spare-room empire or a compact plank, that spread of approach can translate directly into layout decisions, stock choices and weathering ideas.

Trade support is another major draw. A 2026 show leaflet says nearly 40 specialist suppliers are expected, with major manufacturers and traders bringing locomotives, rolling stock, scenic materials and tools. That kind of turnout turns the show into a practical stock-up trip as well as a showcase. N gauge is a scale where availability can shape a project from the start, and the chance to compare products on the stand, in the flesh, is often the difference between a concept and a running layout.

The event also keeps the logistics easy. Opening hours are listed as 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday, with tickets at £14.50 for adults, £13 for seniors and £6 for children aged 5 to 14. Free parking, a café and restaurant, plus a Saturday-only shuttle bus running every 30 minutes from Leamington Spa station, add to the case for making the trip. Meridienne says the show began in 2004, was originally organised by The N Gauge Team, and has grown over more than 20 years into what it now calls THE Show For The Railway Modeller.

The return of the show underlines how robust the N gauge sector remains. It is not just a display of layouts; it is where manufacturers and retailers meet a concentrated audience, and where announcements can land. Dapol used the event in 2022 to unveil N gauge plans including a GWR Mogul and BR HST, a reminder that Warwickshire has become a place where the scale’s next moves are often signposted before they reach the shelves.
