NBA 2K26 Season 6 Brings Anime Flair, Shaq and KAT Headline Rewards

Karl-Anthony Towns headlining a season that hands out a 100 OVR Shaquille O'Neal at Level 40 on the free track is not a subtle opening move. NBA 2K26 Season 6, titled "Unleash Your Final Form for the NBA Playoffs," went live this morning at 8:00 AM PT across PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC, bringing an anime-inspired overhaul that touches MyCAREER, MyTEAM, The W, and The Park simultaneously.
The anime aesthetic runs deeper than a visual skin. Hand-drawn card art appears across MyTEAM collectibles throughout the season, and 2K built the entire arc around "transformation, competition, and legacy," connecting the art style directly to the emotional storyline of chasing a championship. The New York Knicks center Towns was chosen as the face of the update, anchoring an identity that leans into postseason stakes from the first login.
For MyTEAM grinders, the reward ladder is engineered to create urgency at every tier. A Pink Diamond Ja Morant lands at Level 1 and evolves up to 99 OVR, meaning players have an immediate high-ceiling card in hand before the first session ends. From there, Mike D'Antoni's Dark Matter coach card unlocks at Level 28 and Dennis Rodman's Dark Matter card follows at Level 30. The Level 40 capstone, a 100 OVR Shaq, is the kind of Auction House-moving status item that players will be building lineups around within hours of it hitting accounts. Pro Pass holders receive alternate Shaq variants on top of the standard track, adding another layer to the value calculation.
