NBA 2K26 Season 6 Launches April 3, 2026, Official Channels Confirm
Season 6 drops April 3 at 8AM PT, bringing 80 free rewards to MyCAREER and MyTEAM with a new season pass.

NBA 2K26 Season 6 kicks off Friday, April 3, 2026, at 8AM PT / 11AM ET, confirmed by NBA 2K's official channels and amplified across the gaming press. The date closes out Season 5's college basketball run and resets the clock on six weeks of new grind.
Like every season before it, Season 6 will bring fresh content to both MyCAREER and MyTEAM, along with a new season pass carrying 80 free rewards to earn over time. A Pro Pass, featuring additional premium rewards, is also expected to accompany the launch. 2K has not yet released patch notes or confirmed Season 6's specific theme, so the full reward list and cover athlete for the season remain unannounced ahead of April 3.
The April 3 date has been locked in since before the game shipped. From NBA 2K26's initial global launch, the starting dates for all eight seasons were already determined, with the full schedule running through June 26, 2026. Season 1 opened on September 5, 2025, followed by Season 2 on October 17, Season 3 on November 28, Season 4 on January 9, 2026, and Season 5 on February 20. After Season 6 on April 3, Season 7 follows May 15 and Season 8 closes the year June 26.
Each NBA 2K26 season lasts six weeks, giving players that window to work toward season rewards before the next one starts. That timeline is tight if you're hunting VC or pushing for top-tier MyTEAM cards. Each season features 80 total free rewards split evenly: 40 for MyCAREER and 40 for MyTEAM. Progress is shared across both tracks, so playing either mode earns XP toward both reward paths.
Each new season comes with a different theme: Season 1's "Crews" introduced new MyTeam cards and cosmetics to unlock and spend VC on, while Season 5 leaned into college basketball with 16 NCAA programs represented across both modes. Season 6's theme has not been announced yet; the Courtside Report, 2K's typical pre-season preview blog, is expected before the April 3 drop.
For players who want to track dates without leaving the game, the full season schedule is visible at any time outside the Gatorade Training Facility in MyCareer mode, on the opposite end from the stadium where regular season games are played.
As of now, the developers have not released any patch notes or update details for Season 6. With eight days until launch, expect the official Courtside Report to surface in the days ahead with the theme reveal, reward tier breakdown, and any gameplay changes arriving alongside the new season.
