Global Pet Expo 2026 Unveils Smart Feeders, Wi-Fi Tech for Bird Lovers
A Wi-Fi feeder that snaps photos of wild birds and a dual-lens bath with 2K auto-tracking were among the standout tech drops at Global Pet Expo 2026 in Orlando.

Smart birdwatching technology took a prominent place on the floor at Global Pet Expo 2026, held March 25 through 27 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. Two companies in particular, FeatherSnap and Birdfy, made the strongest cases that the connected-feeder category has moved well past novelty and into serious backyard birding territory.
FeatherSnap brought its FeatherSnap Smart Bird Feeder to the show: a Wi-Fi camera feeder featuring motion-activated capture, real-time photo and video streaming, and AI-powered bird identification. Its Smart Seed and Hummingbird feeders capture high-resolution photos and video of visiting birds, automatically identifying species through proprietary AI technology and delivering insights directly to the FeatherSnap app. A solar panel-powered roof comes standard with every feeder, and the FeatherSnap app has earned the STEM.org Authenticated seal of approval for promoting hands-on learning. For parrot owners curious about enrichment applications, FeatherSnap's technology is designed around wild backyard birds, so direct compatibility with companion parrots is something worth confirming with the company before repurposing the hardware.
Birdfy, showing at Booth #2643 with cutting-edge technology and sustainable design, came with more product volume and a longer track record. The company's progression from its mission to connect more birders with nature on their doorstep has moved steadily upmarket since its first feeder launched in 2021. Its flagship model, the Birdfy Feeder 2 Duo, honored with a BlogPaws Best Award at GPE 2025, is the world's first smart bird feeder with two cameras offering three perspectives, using a dual-lens front camera along with a side camera to capture clips from avian visitors.
The Birdfy Bath Pro was arguably the flashiest hardware at the booth. A CES 2026 Best of Innovation Award winner, the Bath Pro features a dual-lens camera with a 2K auto-tracking portrait lens and a 1080P wide-angle lens, built-in solar panels, and multi-level perches for birds of all sizes. Two new ground-level bath models also debuted alongside it: the Birdfy Bath Jolly O and Birdfy Bath Jolly V.
Birdfy's birdhouse category also drew attention. The Birdfy Nest Duo, a 2026 TWICE Picks Award winner, is the world's first dual-camera smart birdhouse. That's three distinct hardware categories, feeders, baths, and houses, all running camera-based AI identification through the Birdfy app.
The conservation angle adds genuine weight to Birdfy's pitch. For every product sale, Birdfy donates $1 to support bird habitat restoration, wildlife education, and local conservation initiatives, raising over $600,000 to date.
Global Pet Expo, first launched in 2005, is a premier trade show for the North American pet industry showcasing the latest and most advanced innovations. Hundreds of new products are launched annually at the New Products Showcase, and with 1,000+ companies exhibiting across 3,000+ booths, there is always more to explore. For anyone who missed the show floor this week, both Birdfy and FeatherSnap's full product lines are available directly through their respective websites and major online retailers. The gap between what backyard birders and companion bird owners have access to technologically is closing fast, and Orlando just demonstrated how quickly that pace is accelerating.
