Greater Edmonton Parrot Society Hosts Family Show on March 21, 2026

The Greater Edmonton Parrot Society is bringing parrots of every size to the Wyndham Edmonton Hotel and Conference Centre on Saturday, March 21, and for the first time the event takes over the venue's full ballroom space, an upgrade driven directly by last year's turnout. The show runs from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with free parking and tickets available at the door.

Species on display will span the full size range of the parrot world, from the smallest parrotlets to the largest macaws, giving attendees a hands-on look at birds rarely seen outside specialty aviaries. The multi-species showcase is the centerpiece of the day, but the program extends well beyond looking at birds. A vendor market offers supplies and accessories for bird owners, while education sessions let visitors connect directly with experienced owners to learn the practical side of parrot care.

A scavenger hunt threads through the show floor, sending participants in search of feathered facts about the birds on display, with a draw prize for those who complete it. The afternoon also includes a silent auction and free stickers and temporary tattoos for kids, rounding out what the society bills as a full family outing under its motto: Discover, Celebrate, Educate.

Admission at the door is $10 for adults, $7 for youth ages 6 to 17, $25 for a family of four, and free for children five and under. Registering through Eventbrite ahead of time is optional and helps organizers estimate attendance, though tickets are not required in advance.
