Pet Supplies Plus Opens Altamonte Springs Store, Backs Seminole Parrot Rescue

A new Pet Supplies Plus franchise touched down at 990 N State Road 434 in Altamonte Springs on February 26, and from the start, co-owners Danielle and Mike Kerner made clear that Seminole Parrot Rescue would be among the local organizations benefiting from the store's presence.

"Pet Supplies Plus has always felt like home to us," said Danielle Kerner, co-owner of the Altamonte Springs location. "When we moved to Florida, we knew we wanted to build something rooted in our love for animals and the community. Opening this store gives us the chance to support the rescues we care so deeply about and become a trusted resource for our new neighbors."

The Kerners, now settled in North Orlando, have pledged support for six local rescue organizations: Candy's Cats, a nonprofit focused on rescuing and rehoming felines; Husky Haven of Florida, which specializes in the rescue and rehabilitation of Siberian Huskies; Golden Retriever Rescue of Mid-Florida, a volunteer-run organization; Better Life Pet Rescue; Pet Alliance; and Seminole Parrot Rescue. For the parrot community in particular, having a neighborhood retailer actively backed by a rescue partnership is the kind of local infrastructure that makes a real difference for birds in need.

The store carries natural pet foods and products spanning cats, dogs, reptiles, birds, fish, and small animals, putting it squarely on the radar for anyone keeping parrots alongside other companion animals. The in-store team is extensively trained in natural and holistic foods and can field questions about birds, reptiles, fish, dogs, and cats. Leashed pets are welcome inside, and staff are on hand to answer care questions or offer feeding tips.

Beyond the floor staff, the Altamonte Springs location offers a full-service grooming salon, self-pet wash stations, and carry-out service where team members bring heavy purchases to customers' cars. Online shoppers get one-hour curbside pickup and free same-day delivery on all orders.
