Joe’s Italian opens in Minot, bringing pasta, rooftop dining and events
Joe’s Italian opened at 7 1st Street SE with pasta, rooftop seating plans and event space, adding a big new Italian draw to downtown Minot.

Downtown Minot has a new Italian anchor. Joe’s Italian opened at 7 1st Street Southeast, bringing a broad pasta-driven menu, a three-floor footprint and a clear push to become more than a quick stop for dinner.
The restaurant’s path to Minot started in Texas before expanding into several other states and then North Dakota. In Minot, owner Ardo Methasani is positioning the business around authentic Italian food and a noticeable difference in taste and quality, a pitch that fits a downtown district built around shops, restaurants, public art and events.
The menu is designed to cast a wide net. Joe’s Italian highlights pasta, pizza, calamari and chicken parmigiana, along with catering, dine-in, takeout and delivery. That combination gives the restaurant the kind of flexibility that can work for family dinners, lunch service, carryout orders and larger group meals without forcing customers into one narrow dining style.
The building itself may be the biggest statement. Joe’s Italian occupies a large, multi-level space with three floors, giving the restaurant room to grow into a social destination. The second floor is planned as a bar, the rooftop is slated for outdoor seating and the third floor is reserved for private parties and special events. That layout gives Minot a rare Italian spot with the scale to handle everyday traffic and special occasions under one roof.
The liquor-license process will shape how quickly the full concept comes together. Minot requires an online application, floor plan, lease or purchase documents, departmental review and final City Council approval, and the complete package is supposed to be filed 45 days before the intended effective date. Ownership expects that piece to be in place by the end of the month.
The opening also lands in an established downtown corridor, not a blank slate. Prairie Sky Breads has operated at 3 1st Street Southeast since 2014, and Minot’s 2020 census population was 48,377, making each new downtown dining addition meaningful in a mid-sized market. With its mix of pasta, rooftop seating and event space, Joe’s Italian has the ingredients to become a regular hometown stop rather than a one-night novelty.
