Sorella Cucina Toscana Opens in Burlington with Handmade Pastas, Expanded Bar
Sorella Cucina Toscana has reopened at 2400 District Ave. in Burlington with scratch-made pastas, seafood, and a larger bar after a six-month, multimillion-dollar renovation.

Tuscan Brands has rebranded and reopened its former Tuscan Kitchen at 2400 District Ave., Burlington, as Sorella Cucina Toscana, a modern Italian concept centered on handmade pastas, seafood, and an expanded bar program. Wickedlocal reports the space was converted after a six-month, multimillion-dollar renovation, and Boston Magazine describes the redesign as a lighter, modernized interior with more room for parties.
Local coverage lists differing public opening dates: the Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce and Patch reported a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, Feb. 19, while Boston Magazine and Wickedlocal listed Feb. 20 for the public reopening. Patch notes that reservations are being accepted now; the chamber post (dated Feb. 11, 2026) provides a press contact for Tuscan Brands, Peter Lawson, Director of Events, at (781) 229-0300, and the Burlington Chamber office contact is office@baccma.org | 781-273-2523 for verification.
Design and atmosphere are a clear pivot from the previous Tuscan Kitchen. Boston Magazine’s interior photographs (photo credit Rachel Leah Blumenthal) show wooden floors, round and rectangular tables set with glassware, patterned cushioned chairs, hanging plants, and shelves with decorative vases dividing the space. Chris LaBella, vice president of operations for Tuscan Brands, told Wickedlocal, “The place is very feminine, with a lot of light, bright colors, focusing on shareable items in a really fun and energatic atmosphere.”
Menu and beverage highlights called out across reporting include scratch-made pastas and seafood offerings such as lobster pizza and the group’s Bolognese. Northshore Magazine lists signature items, Bolognese, lobster pizza, scratch-made pastas, and describes an “artisan-driven” menu alongside an elevated bar. Northshore also reports Sorella will offer experiential non-alcoholic beverages, characterizing those selections as “elevated zero-proof options that feel just as celebratory as traditional cocktails.”

Events and private dining are central to the new concept. Northshore describes convertible event spaces designed to shift from intimate celebrations to large-scale gatherings, milestone birthdays, rehearsal dinners, and corporate events are explicitly mentioned, while Boston Magazine notes a bigger bar and “more space for parties.” The Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce press language frames Sorella as “a modern Italian restaurant rooted in Tuscan tradition and designed for gathering,” adding that the restaurant “offers an inviting atmosphere, a customizable dining experience, and a setting that feels special.”
Sorella’s reopening also serves as a chapter in Tuscan Brands’ regional expansion. Boston Magazine traces Tuscan Brands’ roots to a Tuscan Kitchen opened in Salem, NH 16 years ago and places the Burlington location in that timeline; Boston Magazine and Wickedlocal note the Burlington Tuscan Kitchen originally opened in 2014 and operated at the District Ave. address for roughly 11 years. Owner Joe Faro is quoted in Boston Magazine calling Sorella “the cool younger sister” of the previous restaurant, signaling a generational and aesthetic shift for the group.
