Getting a Huge dragon onto the table tonight used to mean either settling for a proxy or hunting down an out-of-print oversized model. Paizo Printables, which went live today on both MyMiniFactory and Patreon, gives GMs a third option: a Huge Mirage Dragon STL, sculpted in partnership with Titan Forge, that ships with nine pages of encounter documentation specifically designed to cut prep time rather than add to it.

Associate publisher Thurston Hillman called the Mirage Dragon "one of the OGs of the new dragons" from Paizo's updated draconic lineup, a creature illusion-magic fans will recognize from the front cover of Pathfinder GM Core, typically rendered in iridescent purples and greens. Hillman's stronger claim, though, is about what arrives alongside the print file. The dedicated Mirage Dragon PDF includes concept art, lore pulled from Lost Omens Draconic Codex, "a full stat block," "full body art," and what Hillman described as "a page entirely dedicated to tactics." That tactics page is the real signal of what Paizo is building: not collectibles with attached PDFs, but encounter resources that happen to come with printable models.

"We're really excited to see how people will paint this," Hillman said. The Mirage Dragon's illusion-dragon identity makes it "one of the neatest in terms of color," and Paizo is watching to see how the community interprets the official sculpt without a mandated color scheme locked in.

The remaining 27 files in the Welcome Pack include eight Player Core iconics plus two companions, three Large dragons, and boggard miniatures tied to a second included PDF: a demo adventure connecting directly to Pathfinder Game Night: Dawn of the Frogs. Hillman confirmed Paizo has further plans, saying flatly "we're going to do more dragons," and described the Printables platform as a vehicle for "stuff we normally wouldn't get the opportunity to do."

The practical note for home printers: the Mirage Dragon's Huge base footprint pushes most consumer build plates near their volume limits, and the file will reward careful support work whether you use the pre-supported version or place manually. Field Agent subscribers at $10 per month receive all 28 Welcome Pack files plus six or more new STLs each month, with accompanying PDFs and seasonal themes rotating every three months, the first of which is built around the Hellfire Crisis metaplot. Anyone who wants to skip the print queue can use Titan Forge's print-on-demand option through MyMiniFactory. The Welcome Pack is live now for both Patreon and MyMiniFactory subscribers.

Paizo's choice to package the Mirage Dragon with a full tactics document, not just a stat block, sets an early template for the Printables line. If nine pages of encounter support becomes the standard for each monthly centerpiece, GMs are looking at something closer to a modular encounter library than a collectible subscription service.
