Paizo teases final Gen Con preview for Pathfinder and Starfinder fans

Paizo’s July 23 post, One Week Til Gen Con!, gave Pathfinder and Starfinder fans a clear deadline: “With only seven days ’til the doors open at the Best Four Days in Gaming, we’re here with one final sneak preview of everything we’ve got happening at Gen Con!” That framing makes the post more than a cheerleading stop on the way to Indianapolis. It is the last public nudge to check schedules, lock in tickets, and decide which Paizo events matter before the convention floor opens.

For Pathfinder players, that matters because Paizo has spent the summer tying Gen Con to the parts of the hobby that shape actual tables later on. A July 8, 2026 Organized Play Monthly Update showed the company was already building toward the show with regular convention-related updates. In January, Alex Speidel spelled out the stakes more directly when Paizo announced its organized play plans for Gen Con and Origins: “2026 is going to be an incredibly exciting year for Paizo. We’ll be taking you all on new and exciting journeys with Galactic Ancestries, new Pathfinder rulebooks, and tons of new adventures!” That is the kind of roadmap that changes what people buy, prep, and slot into their campaigns.

The convention also sits inside a familiar Paizo pattern. In 2025, the company posted Get Ready for Gen Con! on July 22 and Welcome to Gen Con! on July 31, with a May 18 post, Game with Paizo at Gen Con 2025!, linking the convention to the launch of Starfinder Second Edition and Pathfinder Society Year 7. That same post told fans that signups for all Gen Con events opened at noon Eastern time. Paizo’s own Gen Con coverage has also explicitly tied the event to Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Organized Play, and Starfinder content, which is why the final preview tends to matter well beyond the show itself.

Paizo’s broader identity gives the post extra weight. The company says it publishes Pathfinder and Starfinder and has earned more than 100 major awards, so a Gen Con appearance is not just a booth stop. It is one of the moments when the company’s release calendar, organized play plans, and community visibility all land in the same place at once.

That is why the “seven days” line does the heavy lifting. By the time Paizo put out its final preview, Gen Con was no longer a distant convention on the calendar, but the next immediate checkpoint for anyone tracking Pathfinder and Starfinder’s 2026 run.
