DJI has set the stage for its next consumer drone push with a teaser that points squarely at a new Lito lineup, not just a single model. The brief clip, posted through @DJIGlobal and tied to a April 23, 2026 reveal at 12:00 GMT, used the tagline “Just Fly” and the hashtags #DJILito, #DJILitoX1, and #DJILito1, a strong sign that DJI is preparing multiple entry-level drones for its next launch window.

What makes that timing matter is the category DJI appears to be targeting. The lightweight class below 250 grams remains the easiest on-rules path for a lot of first-time drone buyers, especially in the United States and Europe. The Federal Aviation Administration says recreational drones at or below 0.55 pounds, or 250 grams, flown exclusively under the recreational exception do not need registration, while EASA’s consumer drone framework also treats under-250g aircraft as the lightest class. DJI already has a foothold there with the Mini 3, which weighs 248 g and uses a 1/1.3-inch sensor, and the Mini 4K, which is marketed as an under-249 g beginner drone with 4K/30fps video, 10 km transmission, 31-minute flight time and return-to-home.

The leaked specs are where photographers will start paying close attention. The standard Lito 1 is said to carry a 48-megapixel camera with a 1/2-inch sensor, an f/1.8 aperture and RAW support, along with familiar DJI tools such as ActiveTrack, QuickShots and return-to-home. The higher-end Lito X1 is rumored to step up to a 1/1.3-inch sensor, 4K video at 100fps, 2.7K vertical video, omnidirectional obstacle avoidance and possibly LiDAR. Multiple reports also point to DJI’s O5 transmission system and a three-axis gimbal, two details that would matter far more than marketing copy if the goal is cleaner framing, steadier footage and more confidence in tighter spaces. Pricing leaks place the Lito 1 around €339 with the RC-N3 controller, while the Lito X1 is pegged near €419.

The bigger signal is strategic. DJI has already shown it can sell ultra-light drones, and the Neo, launched in September 2024, weighed just 135 g while leaning hard into easy takeoff and compact carry. If Lito lands with the rumored specs, DJI could be building a cleaner, more camera-focused replacement for the lower end of the Mini line, giving casual creators and travel shooters a lighter, cheaper reason to stay inside the DJI ecosystem without jumping straight to a more expensive Pro model.
