Reeflex launches 3x telephoto add-on lens for iPhone and Samsung flagships
Reeflex’s new Kickstarter lens turns iPhones and Galaxy Ultras into 300-600mm rigs, but 308 grams of bulk make it a serious carry.

Reeflex is pushing smartphone cameras into reach most phone owners never get from built-in telephoto glass. Its Ultra Telephoto 300-600mm, now live on Kickstarter, is a 3x optical add-on lens designed for Apple and Samsung flagships, turning the telephoto module in front of it into a much longer lens for wildlife, travel, sports, distant landscapes and moon shots.
The pitch is straightforward: this is not a conventional zoom, but a way to triple the effective focal length of supported phones. Reeflex lists compatibility with the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, and the latest iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, along with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, S24 Ultra, S25 Ultra and S26 Ultra. The company says the lens is optimized for telephoto cameras rather than the 1x main camera, which makes its value clearest when a subject is too far away for digital crop to hold up.
Reeflex built the lens around four elements, including lanthanum glass, inside an aerospace-grade aluminum barrel. At 70.5 mm long and 308 grams, it is far from a clip-on novelty and looks aimed at photographers willing to carry extra bulk for real reach. The system uses a special phone case for mounting, then threads the lens on using a standard 17 mm mount for a more secure fit.

The Kickstarter FAQ says the lens is fully compatible with iPhone and Samsung autofocus systems and can lean on the native stabilization found in the latest flagship tetraprism telephoto cameras. Reeflex still recommends a tripod or gimbal for video, which is a reminder that this kind of extension magnifies handling issues as much as it magnifies subjects. The company also says the lens is suitable for moon shots and astronomy, a niche where long reach matters more than speed.
Early-backer pricing starts at €239, about $280, putting it squarely in enthusiast territory rather than impulse-buy accessory land. Reeflex says backers will receive both the lens and a compatible case, with case choice handled after the campaign ends through a survey. The company is also leaning on its record, saying it has already launched and delivered two previous Kickstarter campaigns ahead of schedule, alongside a broader ecosystem that includes iOS camera apps, magnetic filters and other accessories. For mobile shooters who have been waiting for a meaningful optical step beyond smartphone digital zoom, this is a serious, if specialized, answer.
