Viltrox is arriving at NAB Show 2026 with some concrete hardware to back its ambitions. The Chinese optics manufacturer, operating under the theme "Expanding the Viltrox Imaging System — From Photo to Cinema," will use the April 18-22 Las Vegas trade show to officially launch new lenses in its EVO series and pull back the curtain on an expanded L-mount roadmap that includes at least one confirmed focal length: the AF 16mm F1.8 L.

The EVO series occupies a deliberate middle tier in Viltrox's lineup, slotting between the premium Pro lenses and the budget-oriented Air range. Built around compact full-frame autofocus primes, the line targets creators who want professional performance without flagship pricing. The NAB launches will specifically feature EVO APO lenses, a designation that points to apochromatic optical designs aimed at tighter chromatic aberration control across stills and video capture alike.

On the L-mount side, NAB will mark one of Viltrox's first major international trade show appearances since the company joined the L-Mount Alliance. The expanded roadmap will feature the AF 16mm F1.8 L alongside several other unreleased L-mount lenses, with hands-on sessions and expert-led demonstrations planned for the LAB and Pro flagship tiers. For Panasonic Lumix and Leica full-frame shooters, that roadmap preview carries real weight: more third-party L-mount glass means more competition, and historically more competition has meant faster product cycles from the larger players.

The cinema side of Viltrox's booth is equally stacked. The EPIC series, its dedicated cinema lens lineup, will appear with expanded focal length options. Raze DL-mount lenses designed specifically for the DJI Ronin 4D system will also be on display, alongside the NexusFocus adapter, which brings autofocus capability into professional cinema workflows where manual focus has long been the default.

The NAB Show has traditionally been video production's biggest annual gathering rather than a stills-focused expo, and Viltrox's decision to anchor major lens launches there rather than at a photography-specific show is a deliberate signal. Hybrid shooters who move between camera bodies and cine rigs have become a primary audience for third-party optics makers, and Viltrox is clearly building its product calendar around them. With the AF 16mm F1.8 L and several unannounced models expected to surface publicly for the first time when the show floor opens April 18, the booth is worth a close watch for anyone invested in the L-mount ecosystem.
