Vivo arrived at MWC Barcelona 2026 with arguably its most camera-forward flagship yet, showing off the X300 Ultra alongside what it claims is the smartphone industry's only 400mm-equivalent telephoto extender, co-engineered with Zeiss and built around an apochromatic (APO) optical design.

The lens supports the X300 Ultra's 200-megapixel camera and, with digital cropping, extends effective reach to 1600mm super-telephoto territory. That puts it at twice the focal length of the Zeiss telephoto extender Vivo shipped with the X200 Ultra last year, a deliberate escalation that positions the X300 Ultra less as a conventional Android flagship and more as a compact camera alternative. Vivo says the extender "pushes the boundaries of mobile imaging" and delivers "professional-grade optical performance," though the company has disclosed little else about the X300 Ultra's full camera system.

Product Manager Han Boxiao announced two dedicated Photographer Kits on March 25, with the X300 Ultra and X300s each receiving their own accessory bundle tailored to different shooting styles.

The X300 Ultra Photographer Kit is the more comprehensive of the two. It bundles the "Cannon 400" teleconverter lens alongside the "Lipstick 200" teleconverter, a custom-fitted phone case with a protective decorative ring and a filter ring, a photography bag, and a shoulder strap. The standout piece is a new photography grip whose customizable button can be mapped to album review, shutter control, or switching between teleconverters on the fly. The grip also carries a built-in 2300mAh battery with 55W fast charging, extending shooting sessions without reaching for a separate power bank.

The X300s Photography Kit takes a lighter approach, pairing the "Lipstick 200" teleconverter with a custom phone case and a photographer's shoulder strap. It is a streamlined setup built for portability and quick-draw shooting rather than a full professional rig.

Vivo's investment in modular telephoto hardware tracks with the performance trajectory of its X-series. The X200 Pro established one of the stronger telephoto cameras in the smartphone segment, and the X300 Ultra's optics are engineered to push that benchmark further. At a recent imaging-focused event, Vivo shared official sample images from both the main and telephoto cameras. A possible retail price of around 7,499 yuan (approximately $1,090) has circulated, though Vivo has not confirmed that figure officially. Complete specifications for the X300 Ultra are expected soon.
