Lawrence County opens outdoor pickleball courts at Cascade Street

Lawrence County put a grand opening on its outdoor pickleball courts at Cascade Park, 1928 East Washington St. in New Castle, with a family-friendly event set for June 6, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. The listing sits in Visit Lawrence County’s Outdoors calendar, which puts the courts squarely in the county’s public recreation lineup.

For pickleball players, that matters because it moves the project from construction to actual court time. Outdoor courts give New Castle another place for casual play, open runs, and small community gatherings during good-weather months, and the county is presenting the opening on a tourism site built around Explore, Eat, Stay, and My Suitcase planning tools.

Lawrence County is not treating pickleball as a one-off parks detail, either. Visit Lawrence County also lists Ascent Pickleball at 2658 Ellwood Road, New Castle, PA 16101, under Fitness/Sporting Goods, which shows the county already has a named pickleball business in the mix. That makes the new Cascade Park courts look less like an isolated amenity and more like part of a growing local play scene.
