ITTF Foundation Releases Health Festival After-movie, Builds Momentum for WTTD 2026
The ITTF Foundation released its 2025 Health Festival after-movie with 34 promoters from 24 countries already lined up for WTTD on 23 April 2026.

The ITTF Foundation, the development and humanitarian arm of the sport's international family, released the official after-movie for its 2025 World Table Tennis for Health Festival and has been channelling that content into a broader push for World Table Tennis Day 2026 celebrations on 23 April.
The momentum is already visible on the ground. On January 23, the Foundation announced its WTTD 2026 Promoters cohort on social media, revealing that 34 passionate Promoters from 24 countries and territories had been selected to lead community celebrations. "Ready to champion the theme of Health & Well-Being and celebrate 100 Years of Table Tennis, these inspiring changemakers will use table tennis to support physical, mental, and social wellness, bringing people together across ages, abilities, and backgrounds," the Foundation wrote in its announcement post.
The after-movie serves as a showcase for what the World Table Tennis for Health Festival (WTT4HF) has grown into since its origins. The Festival was developed in response to enthusiasm surrounding the ITTF Parkinson's World Table Tennis Championships in 2019 and 2021, and a desire to highlight table tennis as a tool for people living with neurodegenerative diseases. It has since expanded into three distinct components: the World Parkinson's Table Tennis Championships, the World Alzheimer's Table Tennis Championships, and the World Table Tennis for Health Congress. Together, those events bring players with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's into the same space as caregivers, coaches, families, and health professionals.

Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) joined as the Festival's main sponsor in 2024, with the Foundation noting that UTT's involvement has enhanced both the reach and overall experience for all participants. The Festival is positioned explicitly within the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals framework, targeting SDG 3.4, which calls for reducing premature mortality from non-communicable diseases by one third by 2030 and promoting mental health and well-being.
The WTTD 2026 Promoters announcement framed April 23 as more than a one-day event, with the Foundation noting its intention to integrate sustainability into local celebrations worldwide. Those wanting to participate can register events through the ITTF Foundation's official channels ahead of the April date.
