Virgin launches Zion corridor park and ride for park visitors

Virgin posted a news flash for the Zion Corridor Park & Ride on Feb. 25, 2026, after Greater Zion said the service would start March 1 as a new way for visitors and commuters to reach Springdale and Zion National Park. The Town of Virgin framed the launch as a practical response ahead of vehicle restrictions affecting access to Zion National Park, where parking pressure and road congestion have become part of the trip plan.

The boarding point is Zion White Bison Resort in Virgin. Parking there is free, including space for large vehicles, and it is available on a first-come, first-served basis. SunTran buses and the Zion White Bison shuttle drop riders at Lion Blvd in Springdale, about 0.4 miles from Zion National Park’s South Entrance and Canyon Village, which puts the last leg of the trip within walking distance of the park gateway.

That is the real appeal of the setup: it lets drivers stop before the tightest part of the corridor. Instead of hunting for a space near the entrance or pushing a larger vehicle through the busiest approach roads, visitors can leave the car in Virgin and transfer to transit for the last stretch into the Zion corridor. Greater Zion said the service was meant as a convenient alternative for both visitors and commuters traveling to Springdale and Zion National Park.

The new lot also fits the way UDOT already pushes travelers to plan around Zion. UDOT’s Zion Area resources group parking, shuttles, transit options, road restrictions and travel tips in one place, along with road-status updates for the park area and the Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway corridor. For now, the advantage is clear and narrow: free parking in Virgin, a shuttle connection into Springdale, and a drop-off point 0.4 miles from the South Entrance. That does not erase Zion’s congestion problems, but it gives travelers another way to avoid adding one more car to the jam near the park entrance, and that is exactly the kind of practical change Zion corridor visitors can use.
