Minutes after Jiajiang Open 2026 surfaced, Jiajiang Cube Carnival 2026 followed, and the timing made Leshan look less like a one-off stop and more like a weekend destination on China’s cubing map. The carnival is set for July 26 in Leshan, Sichuan, with online registration opening June 21 at 20:00.

That back-to-back setup matters because Jiajiang Open 2026 is scheduled for July 25 in the same city, creating a two-day cluster that invites traveling cubers to make one trip count for two official meets. For local competitors, it also means a rare chance to stack solves across consecutive days without leaving the region, while families and organizers get a cleaner weekend rhythm than a single isolated event can offer.

The pairing is especially striking because the July 25 Jiajiang Open already comes with the kind of details that signal a full official meet: it will be held at the Emeishan Yue Garden Hotel, Banquet Hall, First Floor, No. 1153 Cidu Avenue, Jiajiang County, and it is organized by The Flash Cube Club. The WCA listing names Chen Kang, Fangyuan Chang, and Ming Zheng as delegates, placing the event squarely inside the World Cube Association system that governs competitions for twisty puzzles, including the Rubik’s Cube.

By contrast, Jiajiang Cube Carnival 2026 was announced with a lighter public footprint, but that is part of what makes the name interesting. “Cube Carnival” suggests a meet that is meant to feel welcoming and community-facing, not just a title chase on the calendar, and that kind of branding can broaden the field by making the weekend feel less intimidating to newer cubers.

Together, the two announcements give Leshan a stronger identity than a single competition ever could.
