Hades II Arrives on Xbox and PS5 in April 2026, Day One on Game Pass
Hades II hits Xbox and PS5 on April 14, day one on Game Pass, with a content-complete build that already includes every patch from PC and Switch.

When Hades II lands on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on April 14, console players won't be loading into a bare early-access port. Supergiant Games is shipping a version that already incorporates every post-launch patch released across PC and Nintendo Switch, with additional quality-of-life improvements and bonus content folded in on top of that.
Microsoft confirmed the release window during its March 26 Xbox Partner Preview, with Xbox Wire framing the arrival as "Welcome back to the Underworld." The Xbox version launches day one on Xbox Game Pass and carries Xbox Play Anywhere support, meaning a single purchase covers both Xbox and PC without paying twice.
The sequel follows Melinoë, a protagonist who trades Zagreus's escape-from-the-Underworld drive for something newer and darker while keeping the fast, layered combat that made the original compulsive. Supergiant expanded the god roster, enemy variety, and mechanical systems, but the core roguelike loop — run, die, grow stronger, repeat — is intact and recognizable. The game had already built serious critical and commercial momentum on PC and Nintendo platforms before this console window opened.
Shipping with all prior patches baked in is a deliberate signal. This isn't a simultaneous-release situation where console players are playing catch-up; they're getting the refined build from day one. For anyone who played the original Hades on PS4 or Xbox and has been waiting on a reason to jump into the sequel, that's a meaningfully different proposition than what PC players faced when early access first launched.

The Game Pass angle matters beyond convenience. Microsoft has used day-one indie drops on Game Pass to compress the time it takes for a game to build a large, active community. For Hades II, a sudden surge of console players could meaningfully expand the speedrunning scene, challenge-run communities, and streaming audiences heading into spring. The original Hades became a Twitch staple and a speedrun fixture, and the sequel arriving with a low barrier to entry on Game Pass sets up a similar trajectory.
PS5 players get the same April 14 date and the same content-complete build, without the Game Pass wrapper. Either way, the platform exclusivity window closes next month, and Supergiant's roguelike is about to find a much wider audience.
