Black Library Reader's Choice Winners and Blood Bowl Hit Pre-Orders This Week

The 2025 Black Library Reader's Choice vote is finally paying out. Games Workshop's Sunday Preview on March 8 confirmed that the community-voted winners are now heading into pre-orders, led by Steve Parker's Deathwatch, a Warhammer 40,000 novel described as a classic that is available once again in paperback format after what has clearly been a long enough absence to make fans vote it back into print.

Deathwatch is the named flagship of what Warhammer Community describes as a heavy pre-order wave, though the full slate of Reader's Choice winners extends beyond the single confirmed title. Parker's novel follows a kill-team of Space Marines drawn from across Chapters, united under the Ordo Xenos' elite chamber militant, and its return to paperback makes it accessible again for those who missed it the first time around or wore out their original copies.

On the Blood Bowl side, the Caledor Dragons have arrived. Games Workshop's new High Elf Blood Bowl team comes accompanied by the High Elf Team Reference Card Pack, a 26-card set designed to keep roster management clean during games. The pack breaks down into four Player reference cards, two Ball special rule cards, two Pitch special rule cards, two Skill reference cards, and 16 blank player cards. Those blank cards cover the team's full roster spread: 10 for Linemen, and two each for White Lions, Phoenix Warriors, and Dragon Princes, giving Dragon Prince coaches their own dedicated tracking cards for those hard-hitting positionals.

Warhammer Community has also signaled that a studio team discussion about the new Blood Bowl High Elves is coming, which should shed more light on the design decisions behind the Caledor Dragons and how they're intended to play on the pitch.
