Final 2025 Balance Update Tweaks Munitorum Points Across Factions

The Warhammer Design Studio released its final 2025 quarterly balance update on December 29, 2025, delivering widespread Munitorum points adjustments and a handful of rules clarifications across many factions. The changes are primarily incremental point retunes intended to smooth out outliers, preserve game health, and encourage greater list-building variety.

The Design Studio said the overall game is in a healthy place and limited its changes largely to Munitorum point adjustments rather than sweeping rules overhauls. That approach means most players will see modest shifts to army building rather than dramatic meta upheaval, but a set of targeted corrections will matter for lists that relied on recently buffed or heavily popular units.

Notable adjustments affect both ends of the power curve. Adepta Sororitas units that were buffed in earlier updates received point increases to reflect their strength. Adeptus Custodes saw reductions for some alternative infantry options to promote unit variety while the Wardens remain popular. Adeptus Mechanicus units that rose in power have had their points nudged upward. Aeldari received targeted increases on frequently taken units plus several rules clarifications: Star Engines now count as Assault, Skyborn Sanctuary requires the unit to have been eligible to fight, Fire and Fade no longer allows embarking, and Aspect tokens no longer benefit attached characters to match existing token consistency.

Specific faction notes include Astra Militarum and Blood Angels seeing adjustments around the new detachment designs such as Grizzled Company and Rage-cursed Onslaught, with Sanguinor reduced by 10 points. Chaos Daemons were shuffled: Rotigus, Kairos Fateweaver and Lord of Change increased, while Shalaxi Helbane and Keeper of Secrets decreased. The Endless Gift ability had its points reduced and its feel-no-pain effect altered from a 4+ to a 5+. Chaos Knights received internal balancing with the Knight Despoiler increased for a double-gun option and Ruinator and Desecrator lowered. Space Marines had two rules changes, Shadowmark Talon Hunter Instincts now apply only during the movement phase and the Terminator Assault Squad received an updated datasheet, alongside a mix of point increases and small decreases across popular units.

Other targeted tweaks landed across Space Wolves, Grey Knights, Imperial Knights, Leagues of Votann, T'au Empire, Thousand Sons, Tyranids, World Eaters, Deathwatch and Drukhari. Thousand Sons’ Changehost of Deceit detachment now allows summoned Daemons to use the Cabal of Sorcerers army rule. Tyranid Carnifexes and Screamer Killers were reduced in points, and several Knight and Leagues of Votann models saw small drops after playdata review.

Practical next steps: download the Munitorum Field Manual faction packs to view exact point changes and updated datasheets for your army, update your list-building spreadsheets, and run a few friendly games to see how the tweaks affect matchups. Tournament lists may shift as players adapt, so verify points in event packs before submitting lists. The update nudges balance rather than resets it, so expect gradual meta movement and plenty of opportunities to test creative army builds.
