Games Workshop Opens Pre-Orders Next Week for Badrukk, 30k AdMech, Cathay

Games Workshop's latest preview reveals pre-orders opening next week for Warhammer 40k's Ork boss Badrukk, Horus Heresy-era AdMech forces, and Grand Cathay for The Old World. The animated Sisters of Battle series Penitence launches on Warhammer+ simultaneously.

Both Kaptin Badrukk and Ammo Runts are available for made-to-order until 08:00 am GMT on 9 March 2026. The MTO window applies specifically to those two items, and the 08:00 am GMT cutoff on 9 March 2026 is the only explicit calendar deadline provided in the preview materials.

Ammo Runts get a tidy spotlight in the hobby copy: “Ammo Runts do what grots do best: keep the big lads supplied and add comedic menace to your army’s vibe.” The copy also notes practical hobby uses: “They can be used to add character to a Gretchin squad, or support units like Nobz or Flash Gitz.” For painters and basing fans, the copy underlines the appeal of small scenic touches: “These are the models you toss on the base, then later realize they are everyone’s favorite detail.”

Grand Cathay's new support box is named the Defenders of the Great Bastion Army Reinforcement Set, and the FAQ copy lists its contents precisely. “It includes two Astromancers (one on foot, one mounted), thirty Peasant Soldiers with bow or spear options, eight Crane Gun Teams, and twelve Iron Hail Gunners, designed to expand Grand Cathay with magic support, bodies, and shooting.” The materials also confirm flexibility for list-building and narrative play: “Yes. The minis are described as having no allegiance-specific markings, so they fit into either side thematically, depending on how you build and paint your force.”

The Horus Heresy-era releases appear under multiple labels in the preview language. The announcements use “Horus Heresy-era AdMech forces” alongside Mechanicum and an instance of the misspelled “Mechanium,” and the project notes also refer to “30k AdMech.” The aggregated copy treats these terms as describing the same general cluster of Horus Heresy / Mechanicum releases rather than distinct product lines.

The Sister of Battle animated series Penitence is slated to launch on Warhammer+ at the same time as the pre-orders, but no independent release date or time beyond “simultaneously” is provided in the preview text.
