Legio Custodes Battle Group, Fury of the Ten Thousand, Now Available for Pre-order
Fifteen brand-new plastic Custodians are now up for pre-order, but this launch box ships only while stocks last.

The Legio Custodes are without doubt the finest warriors to stride the battlefields of the Horus Heresy, and now they can be yours to command with a Battle Group box full of brand spanking new miniatures," reads the Warhammer Community announcement that kicked off pre-orders on 21 March. The tagline "Strike with the fury of the Emperor himself" is not just marketing bluster; this is the first time most of these models have ever existed in plastic, and for Horus Heresy players who have been watching the Custodes range languish in resin for years, that matters enormously.
The box includes one Shield Captain with the choice of helmeted or unhelmeted head, six Custodian Guard with 12 helmeted and 12 unhelmeted head options, six Sentinel Guard with 12 helmeted and 12 unhelmeted head options, and a Contemptor-Achillus Dreadnought with achillus dreadspear that can alternately be built as a Contemptor-Galatus Dreadnought with a galatus warblade and gravis praesidium shield. Rounding out the 15-miniature box is a Caladius Annihilator Grav-tank, a nimble grav-tank previously only available in resin.
The customisation options reward patient builders. The Custodian Guard Sodality have 24 interchangeable heads and six interchangeable plumes for the helmets, and one model can optionally replace their guardian spear with a magisterium vexilla. The Sentinel Guard Sodality likewise offer 24 interchangeable heads and six interchangeable plumes, six interchangeable praesidium shields, and one miniature can be built as an optional Sentinel Vexillarius holding a warblade or Misericordia.
Two transfer sheets are also packed in. The kit comes with a Legio Custodes Dreadnought Transfer Sheet containing 165 high-quality waterslide transfers and a Legio Custodes Vehicle Transfer Sheet containing 210 high-quality waterslide transfers, both including Custodian symbols and text for locations of great battles. In total, the kit comprises 705 plastic components, one Citadel 60mm Round Base, one Citadel 150mm by 95mm Oval Base, and one Citadel Custodes Vehicle Flight Stem.

At £160, the box is a significant investment, but you're getting 15 meticulously detailed models that form a solid core for any Custodes force. The assembly experience is worth reading about before you crack the box open: the slimmer aesthetic comes with a price, as several components are extremely delicate, including ponytails, wrists, hands, and spear shafts, each a separate piece that demands careful, patient gluing.
This launch box will be available while stocks last, but the individual units will be available separately soon. The pre-order period lasts two weeks, with the official release date set for 4 April 2026. US-based collectors pre-ordering through Miniature Market should note the retailer's caveat that due to ongoing tariff changes, suggested retail prices on preorders may be subject to additional charges, and that any order containing other items will not ship until all preordered products release.
This is the first real chance to grab all these new Adeptus Custodes kits together, which makes it a big moment for Horus Heresy players and Warhammer 40,000 collectors alike. Games Workshop has confirmed there will be 40k rules for these models as well, which means the Fury of the Ten Thousand has reach well beyond the Age of Darkness. For anyone who has been eyeing a golden host, the window to secure the complete launch box is now open, and it will not stay open long.
