Buffalo Woodturning Products Resumes Classes in Cheektowaga, Bowl Class March 8
Buffalo Woodturning Products announced March 6 that classes will resume at its new Cheektowaga shop, with a beginning bowl class starting today, March 8, at 2860 Union Rd.

Buffalo Woodturning Products is resuming in-person instruction at its new Cheektowaga location, launching a beginning bowl class today, March 8, at 2860 Union Rd. The company announced March 6 that woodturning classes would start again at the Union Road shop, marking the first scheduled class series since the business relocated operations to Cheektowaga.
The move to 2860 Union Rd follows Buffalo Woodturning Products’ acquisition of Niagara Lumber of East Aurora in late 2019, a purchase that expanded the company’s footprint in Western New York and set the stage for classroom space in the current storefront. The business retained its retail identity while integrating the lumber inventory it acquired in 2019, and the Cheektowaga address now serves as the primary site for hands-on instruction.
The beginning bowl class scheduled for March 8 is the first public offering announced at the Cheektowaga shop; the March 6 announcement described the class as an entry-level bowl-turning session aimed at woodturners starting at the lathe for the first time. Class logistics, including the start date and the 2860 Union Rd location, were specified in the company’s March 6 notice to customers and club contacts.

Local turners who followed Buffalo Woodturning Products through the 2019 acquisition will recognize the continuity from the Niagara Lumber era to the present Cheektowaga workshop. The company’s decision to resume classes at the retail site restores an in-person training option for the region, and the March 8 beginning bowl session provides a concrete opportunity for newcomers to work on basic bowl shapes under shop supervision at the Union Road address.
As of March 8, Buffalo Woodturning Products’ Cheektowaga shop is again offering scheduled instruction, beginning with the bowl class at 2860 Union Rd announced March 6. The resumption of classes at this location ties back to the business’s expansion after it acquired Niagara Lumber of East Aurora in late 2019, and it reestablishes the store not only as a parts and materials supplier but also as a community classroom for area woodturners.
