Beyond Yoga to Open New Store at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda
Beyond Yoga, owned by Levi Strauss & Co., is opening its first Maryland location on the lower level of Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, expected before summer 2026.

Beyond Yoga landed at Westfield Montgomery Mall with a confirmed lower-level lease, placing the size-inclusive activewear brand next to the incoming Mavi location as part of the mall's spring 2026 retail push. Westfield Montgomery named the brand among its highlight openings in a January 30 announcement, and it has appeared on the mall's coming-soon roster through every monthly update since. As of early April, a specific opening date has not been released, though the brand is actively recruiting a Retail Store Manager for the Bethesda location, signaling the timeline is close.
Beyond Yoga, a Los Angeles-founded activewear brand under Levi Strauss & Co. since September 2021, built its following on leggings, pants, tops, bras, and other pieces designed to fit a wide range of body types, with a focus on comfort, stretch, and everyday wearability. The brand opened its first permanent retail location at the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica in 2022 and opened its first East Coast store in Greenwich, Connecticut. The Bethesda location will be its first in Maryland.
For local practitioners who have been ordering online, walking into the lower-level space changes what buying gear actually looks like: testing how a legging moves through a hip opener, assessing whether a bra band holds during a heated vinyasa, and comparing fit across a full size range before committing. That tactile layer is what physical retail offers that a size chart cannot.

Beyond Yoga has also used its stores as community hubs. Its Club Beyond pop-up in New York City in October 2024 offered up to three curated classes per day spanning yoga, mindful movement, low-impact cardio, and body sculpting. Local studios and instructors in Bethesda, including longstanding community anchor extendYoga, have a potential partnership window here: the brand's retail playbook has room for co-hosted flows and sampling events that bring practitioners through the doors on their own terms.
The Montgomery Mall opening also lands at a notable moment for Bethesda's yoga retail scene. Alo Yoga is simultaneously opening at Bethesda Row a short distance away, meaning practitioners in the area will soon have two premium activewear destinations within the same neighborhood, both with in-store try-on and, potentially, community programming. For a practice that's built on showing up in person, that kind of local retail density matters.
