Stolen Jewelry Investigation in Fauquier County Leads to Drug Arrest
A Fauquier County jewelry theft unraveled into drug and firearms charges after stolen pieces were traced to a sale in a neighboring jurisdiction, leading to two arrests.

Selling stolen jewelry to a business in a neighboring jurisdiction was the misstep that put Ronney Fowler, 44, of Warrenton behind bars. When Fauquier County detectives traced the pieces to that transaction, the trail led to a home in the 400 block of Denning Court where a March 19 search uncovered narcotics, firearms, and ammunition alongside evidence tied directly to the original theft.
Fowler faces multiple felony counts: two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule I/II substance, possession of ammunition by a felon, two counts of possession of a Schedule I/II substance, possession of a Schedule IV substance, grand larceny, and grand larceny with intent to sell. He is being held without bond at the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center.
The investigation opened on March 10, when a Fauquier County resident reported that multiple pieces of jewelry had been stolen from their home. Detectives learned that some of those items had been sold at a business in a neighboring jurisdiction, a lead that allowed investigators to identify a suspect and recover several of the stolen pieces, which were returned to the victim before the arrests.
On March 19, the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office worked with other units to execute a search warrant at the Warrenton residence. Evidence found there prompted detectives to obtain separate warrants for narcotics and firearms charges, expanding the case well beyond the original larceny.
Angela Fowler, 41, also of Warrenton, was arrested in connection with the search and charged with possession of a Schedule I/II substance and possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule I/II substance. She was released on personal recognizance.
The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office said the matter remains under investigation.
