Bamberg-Ehrhardt Baseball Earns Spot in PBR South Carolina 1A Top-10 Rankings
Bamberg-Ehrhardt baseball held its No. 10 spot in PBR South Carolina's updated Class 1A preseason rankings released March 10.

Bamberg-Ehrhardt baseball retained its No. 10 ranking in the latest Prep Baseball Report South Carolina Class 1A preseason Top-10 poll, released March 10 by PB SC Director of Scouting Sammy Esposito.
The Red Raiders held steady at No. 10, the same position they occupied in the previous poll. Esposito and the PB SC staff evaluated teams across three criteria: last season's success, key departures, and returning impact players. The updated release covered Class 3A, Class 2A, and Class 1A statewide polls simultaneously.
Johnsonville climbed to No. 1 in Class 1A after entering the previous poll at No. 2, while Lewisville dropped from the top spot to No. 3. The biggest mover in the poll was Dixie, which entered the rankings at No. 2 after being unranked previously. Latta fell sharply from No. 3 to No. 7, and Lake View slipped from No. 4 to No. 9. The full Class 1A Top-10 lists Abbeville at No. 4, Lamar at No. 5, Hannah Pamplico at No. 6, and McBee holding firm at No. 8.
Bamberg-Ehrhardt is one of only two teams in the Top-10 that did not change position from the prior poll, alongside McBee. That consistency signals the PB SC staff viewed the program's returning assets as sufficient to hold its ground against significant movement elsewhere in the classification.

Esposito framed the release in optimistic terms for the spring season. "After a long offseason that felt even longer than it actually was, the 2026 high school baseball season has finally arrived," he wrote. "This time of year is always a favorite, especially with the level of talent expected to take the field this spring." He added that the rankings are expected to shift: "The polls are sure to evolve as the season unfolds, with plenty of teams making their case for a spot in the rankings."
PB SC noted its staff will continue covering the season with scout blogs, weekly player and pitcher awards, and tournament coverage, all of which were active on the same day the rankings dropped.
