Copperas Cove Civic Center Hosts Annual Daddy Daughter Dance
Suits, dresses, balloons, and a DJ filled the Copperas Cove Civic Center as dads and daughters celebrated their annual dance the weekend of March 7–8.

Dads in suits and ties and daughters in formal dresses packed the Copperas Cove Civic Center the weekend of March 7–8 for the city's annual Daddy/Daughter Dance, an event that drew many local residents for an evening of music, balloon games, and slow dances.
The Copperas Cove Department of Parks and Recreation and the Copperas Cove Youth Advisory Council organized the event together. Ticket prices were set at $20 per pair in advance, with each additional daughter adding $5. Families who waited until the door paid $25 per pair and $10 for each additional daughter. All money raised goes toward future Youth Advisory Council projects and events.
On the dance floor, fathers and daughters passed balloons to each other while a DJ worked through a set that mixed upbeat pop songs with slower numbers suited for close dances. The dress code, while not formally required, was taken seriously: many of the dads wore nice suits with ties, and the daughters wore beautiful dresses.

The atmosphere throughout the evening reflected the weight many families placed on the tradition. As coverage from the Killeen Daily Herald noted, the smiles on everyone's faces showed that this event was very important to every dad and daughter in attendance.
The Youth Advisory Council, which benefits directly from the proceeds, plays a central role in planning the dance alongside the Parks and Recreation department, making it both a community celebration and a fundraising vehicle for youth programming in Copperas Cove.
