Copperas Cove Police Log Shows Warrants, DWI Arrests, Unattended Death
A Copperas Cove man was arrested on a murder indictment warrant Thursday as police also logged a DWI with a BAC above twice the legal limit and an unattended death on Bermuda Street.

George Anthony Truitt was taken into custody at the 400 block of West Avenue F at 10:49 a.m. on March 20, when Copperas Cove Police Officer Davis arrested him on behalf of the Coryell County Sheriff's Office, which had obtained an indictment warrant for murder. The bulletin lists no further detail on the underlying murder allegation, and the specific indictment, victim identity, and case status remain unconfirmed pending official records from the sheriff's office.
Later that evening, the department logged two separate reports against the same man at the 200 block of East Reagan Avenue. Clinton Randall Hunt was arrested at 6:32 p.m. on a driving while intoxicated charge with a blood-alcohol concentration at or above 0.15, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 under Texas law. A second report filed at the same time and location lists Hunt on a charge of continuous violence against the family. The exact charge language in the bulletin is partially garbled, and the precise statutory wording and arresting officers for both reports should be confirmed through department booking records.
Seventeen minutes after Hunt's arrest, at 6:49 p.m., Officer Bosquez arrested Travis Jacob Thompson for public intoxication at 404 North 1st Street.
Among the most consequential entries in the log was an unattended death at the 500 block of Bermuda Street, recorded at 9:11 p.m. Officer Goffinett responded to the scene. The bulletin provides no information about the identity, age, or cause of death of the individual found there, and it remains unclear whether the Coryell County Medical Examiner has been notified or whether the death is being investigated as suspicious.

Earlier in the day, the bulletin recorded a computer security breach at the 400 block of Mary Street, handled by Officer Burden at 2:14 p.m. No details were released about whether the incident involved a residence or business, whether any suspect has been identified, or whether an investigation is active.
The morning began with a criminal mischief and graffiti call at 1204 West Avenue B, logged at 8:48 a.m. with a pecuniary loss listed at under $100. Officer Nixon handled a traffic accident at the 30 block of Cactus Drive just over an hour later. Two more vehicle incidents rounded out the evening: a collision involving vehicle damage under $200 on West Business Highway 190 near the 1100 block at 9:01 p.m., and a second accident at the 2700 block of Settlement Road at 9:23 p.m., handled by Officer Lanza.
All arrests in the bulletin represent allegations. The Copperas Cove Police Department had not issued a separate press release on any of these incidents as of publication.
