Mayor Creasy hosts public Q and A at Beech Bend Park

Decatur County Mayor Mike Creasy will meet residents at Beech Bend Park on Saturday for a public question-and-answer session that puts county government in a more open, face-to-face setting. The county’s website lists Creasy as mayor and gives his office number, 731-852-2131, underscoring the direct access residents will have if they want answers beyond a formal meeting.

The park setting matters because it shifts the conversation out of the courthouse and into a place where families and neighbors already gather. Decatur County Parks & Recreation, managed by Stacey Gurley, lists the Civic Center in Parsons as its main office, and county recreation has become part of how local government presents itself to the public. Beech Bend has also already been folded into county activity before, including the Tennessee Bass Nation High School & Youth event there on March 21, 2026, which Creasy framed around tourism, recreation and youth development.

That history is why the questions likely to come up are practical ones. Residents have reason to ask what county leaders are planning for Beech Bend, especially after a county notice referenced an RFQ for engineering services labeled “Beech Bend.” They may also press Creasy on how that site fits into broader county priorities, from public spaces and tourism to roads, maintenance and long-term development in the Tennessee River Resort area.
