Armen Living has purchased a roughly 12,000-square-foot, nearly one-acre property at 417 S. Wrenn St. (also listed as 417 Wrenn Street in other reports) in downtown High Point and is remodeling the two attached buildings to create a year-round combined showroom for Armen Living and the recently acquired Uwharrie brand. The property consists of a 7,000-square-foot street-facing building and a 5,000-square-foot rear building, and company materials say Phase 1 work is already underway.

Phase 1 targets the 7,000-square-foot street-facing building and includes an updated interior, new lighting, an updated brick exterior, an outdoor space, and an attached deck, according to the remodel plan. The rear 5,000-square-foot building features two shipping and receiving docks and ample parking and is slated for Phase 2 work after the spring High Point Market, with the company planning to make that rear building available for rent to a new tenant.

Kevin Kevonian, owner, president and CEO of Armen Living, described the move as settling into a permanent base in High Point, saying, “We have found a new permanent home in the heart of North Carolina’s furniture capital.” He added, “This property will see to the future growth of our two companies with exponential opportunities to expand our customer base, with year‑round southern hospitality.”

Armen Living has folded the North Carolina outdoor maker into its lineup; the company recently acquired Uwharrie Chair Company, marketed as Uwharrie Outdoor Living, and will show Uwharrie benchmade outdoor furniture alongside Armen Living products. Patio and hearth reporting notes Uwharrie is pronounced you‑WAH‑ree and is named after the Uwharrie National Forest and River near High Point.

Company materials invite trade customers and High Point Market attendees to visit the new showroom for the spring High Point Market, scheduled April 25–29, 2026, while Phase 2 of the project is planned to start after that market. Phase 2 calls for modernizing the 5,000-square-foot rear building and adding exterior upgrades to the street-facing building, including floor-to-ceiling windows, new paint and signage, and a rooftop billboard.

Holly Lightfoot, director of product development for Armen Living and Uwharrie Outdoor Living, framed the move as a strategic merchandising shift: “This is an exciting time for both our companies. Showcasing Uwharrie’s beautiful benchmade outdoor furniture for the first time alongside Armen Living’s new arrivals, was a great feeling. Connecting with retail buyers, specialty outdoor dealers, hospitality purveyors, and interior designers from across the country, and hearing feedback from our existing customers that Uwharrie’s collection is the perfect accompaniment alongside Armen Living’s award‑winning furniture, only solidifies our position and decision to present our two iconic brands in one location going forward. We can’t wait to see each business grow, and to debut new and exciting collections coming soon.”

The new location sits a short walk from the market Transportation Terminal and is adjacent to local restaurant Oscar’s and neighboring trade brands Lucas Home and Diamond Sofa. Tammy Covington, president and CEO of the High Point Market Authority, said, “A newly combined downtown location for Armen Living and Uwharrie Outdoor Living adds to the diverse offering that attracts the home furnishings trade to High Point Market each season. We’re excited for buyers to support the brands in their new space.” High Point Mayor Cyril Jefferson added, “Armen Living’s investment in High Point speaks volumes about our city’s strength as the world’s home furnishings capital. This new showroom not only brings new energy to downtown, but also reinforces High Point’s role as a global destination for design, innovation, and commerce. We are proud to welcome Armen Living and look forward to their continued growth in our community.”

With Phase 1 already in motion and Phase 2 scheduled after the April 25–29 market, Armen Living intends to use the downtown showroom to display bar, dining, living, and occasional collections alongside hundreds of new outdoor products from Uwharrie and to establish a continuous, year-round presence in High Point.
