Residential Structure Fire East of Fortuna, Mutual Aid Called; Road Blocked
Flames engulfed a home near the end of Holman Way east of Fortuna Saturday afternoon; crews blocked the road, staged at a hydrant and requested a mutual-aid water tender.

Flames were visible coming from a residence near the end of Holman Way east of Fortuna on Saturday afternoon, prompting Fortuna Fire and mutual-aid crews to close the road and stage at a nearby hydrant while operations continued.
"According to scanner traffic, the person reporting the fire told dispatchers that flames were visible coming from the structure. Vehicles were reportedly parked outside the residence, and the caller indicated there were pets at the property, though it was unknown whether anyone was inside the home at the time of the report," a dispatcher log showed following the initial call.
Scanner traffic from local monitoring identified the home as "fully involved in flames," leading incident command to request extra resources. At about 4:03 p.m. the incident update stated: "The Incident Commander requested an additional water tender from mutual aid. The road is blocked and those responding still are requested to stage at the hydrant."
