Langley First Saturday Art Walk Returns March 7, Galleries Open 5 to 7 p.m.
Five downtown Langley galleries opened their doors until 7 p.m. on March 7 for the monthly First Saturday Art Walk, inviting visitors to meet artists and view new installations.

Five downtown Langley galleries kept their doors open late on March 7 for the monthly First Saturday Art Walk, welcoming visitors between 5 and 7 p.m. for an evening of new art, artist meet-and-greets, and a leisurely stroll through the seaside village.
The participating venues spanned several blocks of downtown: Artworks Gallery in the courtyard at 221 Second Street, Whidbey Art Gallery at 220 Second Street, Museo Gallery at 215 First Street, Rob Shouten Gallery at 101 Anthes Avenue, and Lasher Gallery at WICA at 565 Camano Avenue. Together they offered visitors what the Langley Chamber of Commerce described as "a leisurely and festive stroll through town to a variety of destinations showing new art."
The First Saturday Art Walk runs every first Saturday of the month, with galleries extending their hours to 7 p.m. specifically to accommodate the event. The format gives attendees the chance to move between multiple spaces in a single evening, meeting the artists behind new installations before those works become widely seen. No admission fee is listed for the event.

The Langley Chamber of Commerce, which promotes the walk through its VisitLangley calendar, can be reached at 221-6765 or Info@VisitLangley.com for information about upcoming monthly dates.
