Quartzsite Elementary opens 2026-2027 enrollment, expands student support partnerships

Quartzsite Elementary School District opened 2026-2027 enrollment on July 4, giving families in Quartzsite and Ehrenberg a little more than a month to register before classes resume August 5, 2026. The district says parents can enroll online or pick up forms at the district office and schools, a shift that matters in a small rural area where timing affects bus planning, staffing, classroom assignments and meal service.

The registration notice asks families to bring identification, a birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residence. Those documents make the difference between a completed file and a delayed start, especially for households that move between winter and summer residences or depend on district offices and school sites to finish paperwork in person.

The district also used a recent live-feed post to point to a broader county support network as the new school year approaches. That post thanked P.A.C.C.E., the La Paz County Sheriff's Department, volunteers, parents and staff after Field Day, and it followed another message about a partnership with a La Paz County collaborative effort that includes schools, nonprofit organizations and the Probation Department. The district did not spell out the full structure of that effort, but the message made clear that enrollment season is being paired with student-support planning, not just registration logistics.

That wider approach fits a district serving a sparsely populated county. La Paz County’s 2025 population estimate is 16,711, with 17.3% of residents under age 18 and 38.6% age 65 or older. In a county with a relatively small school-age population and long travel distances, early enrollment can shape transportation routes, attendance planning and the district’s ability to connect families to services before the first day of school.

Quartzsite Elementary itself is small. NCES lists the district as a PK-8 system with 136 students, 10.00 classroom teachers and a student-teacher ratio of 13.60 in 2024-25. Arizona School Report Cards says the district serves preschool through grade 8 across two schools, which means each enrollment decision has an outsized effect on daily operations and on how quickly the district can line up support for students.

The county probation side of the partnership is also significant. The La Paz County Probation Department says it provides investigative and evidence-based supervisory services for adult and juvenile offenders, and juvenile diversion is among its services. The district’s own school information page also lists Sadie Grimes as the foster care point of contact, another sign that student support in Quartzsite now runs through multiple local systems.
