Eugene Man Sentenced to 90 Months for Fentanyl Delivery Near School
Anthony Miro Latin was sentenced to 90 months in prison after a jury convicted him of delivering fentanyl within 1,000 feet of a school and related charges.

A Lane County jury found Anthony Miro Latin guilty on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, and two days later Lane County Circuit Court Judge Bradley Cascagnette sentenced him to 90 months in the Oregon Department of Corrections with three years of post-prison supervision, court records show in State v. Anthony Miro Latin (25CR24947).
The Lane County District Attorney’s Office described the convictions in a news release, stating: "On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, after a two-day trial before the Honorable Bradley Cascagnette, a Lane County jury found Anthony Miro Latin guilty of: Count 1 - Unlawful Delivery of Fentanyl within 1,000 feet of a School – involving more than 100 grams of fentanyl, Count 2 - Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance – substantial quantity, and Count 3 – Identity Theft."
Investigators from the Eugene Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit (SCU) traced distribution activity to February and March 2025 and reported that Latin "distributed a high volume of fentanyl typically in small, user-level quantities." SCU records cited in the release say Latin frequently dealt fentanyl in part by frequenting a hut at the Westmoreland Safe Spot community shelter and selling to individual users.
On March 31, 2025, SCU executed a search warrant on Latin’s hut at the Westmoreland Safe Spot shelter, his car, his storage unit, and a hotel room on W. 11th Avenue. According to the Lane County materials, "That search yielded a total of over 480 grams of fentanyl, along with a firearm, scales, and stolen personal identification from local residents." Count 1 in the indictment specifically referenced delivery "within 1,000 feet of a school" involving more than 100 grams of fentanyl.
Lane County Assistant District Attorney Ryan Leal prosecuted the case, and the media release on February 13, 2026 was issued by District Attorney Christopher J. Parosa. The materials supplied by the DA’s office also note that the average user amount of fentanyl is 0.10 to 0.30 grams, a statistic included to provide context for the quantities seized.
Public records and the news release do not identify the school referenced in the "within 1,000 feet" charge, the defendant’s age, or the name of defense counsel; those details were not included in the Lane County materials. The court docket lists the case number as 25CR24947; those seeking fuller court documents or the sentencing transcript can request filings from Lane County Circuit Court to confirm prosecution exhibits, lab confirmations, and any additional remarks made at sentencing.
