Ayla Baney named 2026 Miss Rodeo Logan County

Ayla Baney is Logan County’s 2026 Miss Rodeo Logan County, placing a 19-year-old Sterling resident at the center of the county’s fair season. Baney graduated from Sterling High School in spring 2026 and is now studying Agriculture Business at Northeastern Junior College, where she is also on the Ranch Horse Versatility Team and part of the High Plains 4-H Club. She is the daughter of Bart and Megan Baney.

Miss Rodeo Logan County is expected to serve as a goodwill ambassador for the Logan County Fair and Rodeo, the community of Logan County and the sport of rodeo, with duties that extend through the entire fair and beyond it. Her appearances include the National Western Stock Show, the CAFS Convention, the Colorado Queens Clinic, local 4-H events, area fairs, rodeos and parades. She is also expected to maintain relationships with local radio stations and newspapers, stay active on social media and seek sponsorships from local businesses.

The 2026 fair centers youth accomplishments in 4-H and FFA projects, along with junior livestock shows and sale, open-class exhibits and other kid-focused events. Logan County also keeps the royalty program structured, with Sweetheart and Little Miss roles alongside Miss Rodeo Logan County.

The 2026 Logan County Fair runs July 23 through August 2. The PRCA rodeo is scheduled for July 30 and July 31 at 7 p.m., the parade is set for August 1 at 9 a.m., and the night show follows that evening at 8 p.m.

Northeastern Junior College’s Agriculture Business program is a 60-credit, two-year course with an eight-credit internship, designed to prepare students for agribusiness careers or transfer to a four-year school. The college has the largest agriculture department among Colorado’s two-year colleges.

The Logan County Fair Board meets at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of every month at the Logan County Courthouse in Sterling.
