Reward Offered as Logan County Seeks Two Suspects in Sterling Burglaries
Logan County Crime Stoppers and Sterling Police seek help after two restaurants were burglarized and their front doors shattered; tips could help protect local businesses and recover losses.

Logan County Crime Stoppers and the Sterling Police Department are seeking the public's help to identify a couple of suspects who burglarized two local businesses on the same day. The incidents left shattered front glass doors at two Sterling restaurants and took cash registers and liquor, inflicting direct property damage and forcing owners to absorb inventory losses and repair bills.
The burglaries in Sterling occurred in a narrow 30-minute window between 8:15 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9th. Hours earlier in the day, the same suspects burglarized a jewelry store in Erie, Colorado. Authorities say the vehicle involved was a black or dark-colored Volvo XC40 displaying a stolen Colorado license plate, FBFL39.
Surveillance descriptions supplied by investigators characterize the two suspects as appearing to be white males, estimated 5'9" to 6'0" tall and weighing 165 to 185 lbs. One suspect wore a grey hoodie with a possible pig design on the front, gloves, blue jeans and black Adidas-style tennis shoes, and had a red face covering. The second appeared white or Hispanic, wore dark clothing and had a red bandana covering his face. Investigators reported that a green backpack was used in one burglary and a black "PUMA" backpack was used in the other.
The suspect descriptions and vehicle details aim to narrow leads quickly. For local businesses, the immediate costs are tangible: glass replacement, ruined or stolen inventory and lost morning sales. For some Sterling restaurateurs operating on thin margins, the combined expense of repairs, forced closures for cleanup and potential increases in insurance premiums can equal days or weeks of revenue. Neighborhood commercial corridors also feel indirect effects - customers may hesitate to visit storefronts perceived as unsafe and owners may invest in additional cameras or security measures.

Community investigators are offering a financial incentive for information. If you have any information on this crime, or any other crime, call CRIME STOPPERS at 970-522-3937 OR 1-800-444-3776 for anonymous reporting. You could be eligible for a reward up to $2,500. Residents who review home or business surveillance footage for the December 9th timeframe, or who recall a black or dark-colored Volvo XC40 with license plate FBFL39 in or near downtown Sterling that morning, are asked to contact the tip lines.
Some aggregator pages that republish local items also carry unrelated reports about incidents in Sterling, Virginia; those cases are separate and not connected to these Colorado burglaries. Sterling Police and Logan County Crime Stoppers are working to verify leads; for now, the named tips and the reward offer are the clearest paths for the public to help resolve the case. For Sterling residents and business owners, the episode is a reminder to check locks and cameras, document losses, and consider anonymous tips when suspicious activity appears - small pieces of information can close cases and limit the economic fallout for the local business community.
